I have restored this 'Corsa 180
I started this project without knowing what I was getting into. I will share what I have done with those who might be interested in starting such a project. You remember that little disclaimer at the end of commercials that say don't try this at home? I think that might apply here, but you be the judge.
Just in case anyone cares I chose the most common model that was in need of some serious repairs. This car was made at the Van Nuys plant so I assume it started out in the western part of this country. By the time I purchased it from a salvage auction who knows how many people had added their handy work which became so evident as I started my repairs.
As the car came apart I found that it had been a Corvair sandwich with front and rear end damage, side swiped, and New England's arch enemy rust hidden beneath gallons of plastic.
I looked forward to the challenge. Below are a few pictures of work in progress.
